Jumbled props and relics—from obsolete computers to plaster death masks to broken mannequins—are everyday fare at Brooklyn’s own Last Round Gallery; so co-curator Patti Halyak didn’t think twice last night when she saw a decapitated body in a blue suit sitting in the gallery.

But this was no art display.

It was the remains of security guard Dennis Halloran who was butchered last night while making his rounds of a maze-like exhibition of junk and reams of paper based on the infamous Collyer Brothers’ home.

“I thought it was like a movie prop or something,” said Halyak. “But then I see the bleeding head just looking at me from a smashed vitrine on the other side of the room, and I knew it was real.”

The only other person in the gallery who saw the bloody spectacle before police arrived last night was artist Lilith Greaves who was rushed to Methodist Hospital in Park Slope suffering from shock.

“She was just laughing and laughing like she couldn’t stop. She couldn’t breathe, she was laughing so hard like she was in hysterics,” said Halyak.

Police are asking anybody with any knowledge of the murder to step forward. The owner of the Last Round Gallery, John Walters, could not be reached for comment. The exhibition “Collyer Brothers Redux” has been closed until further notice.

Sorry guys, I missed my flight on Delta, but I reserved another direct flight to Nashville airport arriving at 12:10. I hope you can still pick me up. Angel is terrified after hearing about that murder last night at Johnny’s gallery. We were just there the other day and it’s pretty obvious what the Collector Killer was searching for. This is getting too close for comfort. Anyway, Angel’s staying with her cousin out on Montauk.

Also, if that’s not enough, there’s a new scare story posted by Kevin on fanfiction.net. It’s titled “Peabody’s Last Patient”, and I don’t know what it means, but I’m pretty sure it’s some kind of warning.

John Walters writes:

Wish to God we could all just go back home. Sorry now I left Patti all alone with this mess. Maybe Angel’s got the right idea. We’re all targets now—need to hide.

But Rich reminds me that we’re getting closer to the truth. We have to finish this mission and find Kevin even it means traveling to a cemetery in Aurora, Texas.

Still puzzled by a number of things that don’t make sense. I’m still trying to figure out why Kevin posted “Night Terror.” Clearly it was to hook us up with Angela and Dr. Stryker, but why? Thank God, we were traveling to meet with Stryker at Fanvention when that freak (Collector Killer?) contacted us, otherwise we might have faced him on his own terms, and I would be dead right now. But how could Kevin have known that? Has his abduction given him the power to see the future?—JW
